Many members, one body

This month has come and gone so quickly! It was a month full of learning and serving and looking back over all we got to do has been fun.

This month was really unique, because though we came as a whole squad of 20 (with teams of 6 and then 2 squad leaders) we broke into new smaller teams for ministry based on what our giftings are. Some did construction, some cooked, some nannied, some painted, some did marketing, and my team was in the classroom assisting the teachers.

In 1 Corinthians 12 we learn all about how the body of Christ should look like. I especially like in verse 19 and 20 when it says “If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.”

We all are a part of one squad, one kingdom team, one body of Christ, but we all have different strengths and giftings. If we were all a single member (aka if we all operated in the same giftings and looked the same/talked the same/ were carbon copies) there would be no ability for the body to function.

It’s when we work together for a goal by individually living into our strengths that the true beauty of the body can be observed.

Next month we are going to be all together as a squad again so we will get to continue seeing this!

My encouragement to you would be to see how you individually are serving and walking with the Lord. It’s valuable what you bring and it’s good to have differences in the body. If we realize that, there’s no room for comparison to grow!
Gonna miss these boys so much!

  1. Addie, some terrific photos and with the younger people. You look like you’re enjoying the experience and that’s good. Stay healthy, feel committed and happy. Grandpa Kolda

  2. You’re right. One body, different parts, all vital. I’m thankful for the gifts you and your team are offering to the communities you minister in.

  3. so cool to see how you and the Squad have touched the lives of Light & Salt Ministries and the lasting impact you’ve made on LASM! Likewise, you have been touched indelibly by them as well.
