Flash forward a few weeks and we are in Swaziland. My teammate Sav had been having really bad neck and shoulder pain and it ended up with her going to the clinic. I wasn’t gonna go to the clinic, but started throwing up and spiked a fever so it was decided I’d go with her too. She got some medication and was told to rest, I got some medication and was told to rest, we thought it was gonna be fine. Then my fever spiked again and I was having migraines and was so weak and dehydrated I couldn’t get out of bed for 3 days. But that story is coming in another blog. Sav, went through some terrible nights of pain, and finally decided enough was enough and asked the squad to pray over her healing. The next morning she woke up and announced that she was pain free and had been healed! It was really exciting and raised a lot of questions for me. Why now and not before when we’d prayed over her? Why did she experience full healing and I didn’t? Why was it easier to see healing in our squad instead of the communities we go into? Many questions.

I was thrilled for sav, and it was a cool reminder that whether I figure it all out and get all the answers on healing ever or not, God is still going to be healing people. It’s still part of His will that we walk in wholeness and it’s still going to happen regardless of me having answers or not. This experience with healing has been something that has taught me a deeper trust in the Lord, and that even when things don’t make sense to me, they make sense to Him.

Ultimately, I think it was a good re-centering of humility, and a reminder that when you seek FIRST the kingdom of God, all these things will be added to you.
